- 1). Feed your cat a diet consisting of food with lots of healthy fat. There are some cat foods that come with extra fats added, or you can add 1 tsp. of olive oil to his regular food each time you feed him.
- 2). Test your cat for allergies by taking him to a veterinarian. If he is allergic to something, he may be suffering from swelling or inflammation that is causing his hair to fall out and become thin. He may also be scratching and causing thinning of his hair. Give him anti-inflammatory medication to control his allergies.
- 3). Determine if your cat is stressed by having him evaluated by a veterinarian. If it is determined that your cat is stressed or has anxiety, this may be causing him hair loss or thinning. Help control his stress levels by giving him anti-anxiety medication and his hair should become thick again.
