Cat Steps Help My Pet Enjoy The Day With Me
I work out of an office located in my home.
The views from my converted office are wonderful.
I can see mature trees, a bit of a creek, and a pasture holding goats and chickens.
Our dogs run around outside, protected by collars which are paired to an underground electric fence.
Pretty idyllic if I do say so myself.
But our old cat just didn't get the same view.
On top of being old (she's 8 years old), she's dreadfully overweight because my husband spoils her, always has.
The two things combine and affect her ability to jump, run, and climb the way she used to.
We even had to give away her cat tree, as it was only a dust catcher due to her inability to enjoy it as she had in years past.
I knew how much she used to enjoy looking out the widows at the world outside.
Now that we had foolish dogs she could watch, it seemed shameful that she couldn't watch them.
After talking with some friends who are also owners of an older cat, I decided to give something a try.
I made an order for some cat steps on the whim that the simple frame would give Fancy some new life.
Boy, what a great decision that was! See, while Fancy could no longer make the vertical leaps onto her old cat tree, she could walk up some cat steps without feeling any pain.
I guess the height of the run was small enough not to tax her joints.
I placed the cat steps in my office near the northeast windows so she could watch over an entire corner of the yard.
Now she can climb the pet steps and take a nice rest on the top platform and watch the world around her.
