Comical Cats Picture Gallery: Mr. Zeus
Mr. Zeus was a "rescue kitty" and is just a sweetheart. I accidentally ran into him at a cat show. I went to the cat show as a spectator just having fun. On this day, they also had rescue groups there. I went to pet Zeus with no intentions of bringing home a cat. To make a long story short, he was so sweet and affectionate, even with a lot of people, barking dogs, and everything. I hated to leave without him, but I filled out the application and brought him home two months later (he caught a cold at the rescue fair and I didn't want my other cat to get sick, so the rescue group offered to medicate him until he was well).
It was a long wait, but well worth it!
The rescue group told me he would probable be a little scared when I took him home on account that his previous owner had abused him some. They said when they first got him, if someone entered a room where he was and said his name, he would run backwards and hide in a corner. He was terrified! They also told me it had taken several months to bring him to an "adoptable" state. Well, they did an excellent job! He was a little scared at first, but after a week he knew I wouldn't hurt him.
He is such an affectionate and sweet cat. Why people abuse animals I don't understand, and he is such a sweet one. I took a lot of time (one month) acclimating the two cats together at first being as they were both adult males. I kept them separated during this time until the hissing and growling stopped when they would sniff noses through the door. Then, I would only put them together when I was home for about two weeks.
That was two years ago, and they are great play mates now! I am so glad I have him. In this photo, Mr.
Zeus and Kit-ten are playing. They like to chase each other back and forth. Here, Zeus is in mid-flight as he jumps my three stairs with Kit-ten in hot pursuit just behind. They are so much fun and I am so glad that I have them both.
