Premium Dog Food & Luxury Dog Beds Are Still Flying Off the Shelves
Although we are now all aware the world is in the midst of a deep recession, meaning people are spending less and less on non necessities, a recent survey has shown that people are still happy to shell out on their pets and they continue to buy premium pet food and luxury pet products.
This is an interesting study considering that a lot of people have been forced to exchange their top of the range supermarket products to the supermarkets own brands yet refuse to take the same actions for their furry friends.
The survey showed that the main reason for this decision was the fact that a lot of pet owners are worried that by downgrading their pets food to a cheaper, less appealing alternative that their pet would suffer a deterioration in health, some feared minor issues from toiletry problems to skin issues whereas others were worried that it may shorten the lives of their loved ones.
A cheaper brand of pet food clearly hasn't got the scope to include the vitamins and minerals as some of the more premium brands which does shed some truth on people perceptions but the same can be said for the food that we eat.
A top of the range organic sausage will contain a lot more meat than that of its cheaper, watered down alternative so would clearly be a healthier more nutritious choice.
However pet owners seem a lot less concerned about their own well being but concentrate their efforts on making sure their cats and dogs live long, happy and healthy lives.
As well as opting for premium pet food it seems owners are also still happy to buy premium products such as diamante studded collars or a luxury quilted bed again strengthening the fact that a lot of owners put their pets before themselves.
Again true is the fact that your cat or dog would be a lot happier sleeping on a luxury faux suede bed than in a hard plastic tub so it is easy to see why people make the choice.
Although premium pet products can be expensive the economic climate we are in has meant that a lot of pet suppliers have had to drop their prices therefore considerable savings can be made, especially if buying from an online pet store.
