Cat Picture of the Week: Jack
Jack was subsequently elected Cat of the Month, Dec. 2008, Q4 Semifinalist, 2008, and CAT OF THE YEAR 2008. Way to go, Jack!
Jack is a five and a half year old orange tabby that we adopted from a local humane society/foster home organization. We hadn't planned on adopting another cat since we already had two at home, but we couldn't resist visiting the adoptees when we shopped at PetSmart. As we were walking in front of his cage, he picked us by reaching out to my husband with his paw to tap him on the arm, and putting his arms around my husband's neck for a hug when he was picked up.
The tip of his tail was broken off and he had a cold, but he looked at us with such love in his eyes that we went to fill out the adoption paperwork immediately.
Jack loves to fetch balls and chase after his cat brother Moofausa and his cat sister Maddy. He's a playful, spunky boy with the softest fur and loudest purr who likes to clean his front paws in his water bowl.

Jack's picture represents the epitome of catness to me. There is something about the expression on his face that simply reaches out and grabs, much like Jack reached out and grabbed Jennifer's heart. Jack's picture also appears in my 2008 Red Cats Picture Gallery. All of my chosen Cat of the Week photos are selected from pictures submitted to other galleries on this site. Sorry, but I can't accept photos that don't comply with the Photo Submittal Guidelines. There's still plenty of time to submit photos of your own Red Cat; also photos for the 2008 Winter Holiday Cats Picture Gallery.
